Cornerstone Christian Academy

Jonas and Esther Johnson, Founders

Thank you for supporting the launch year of Cornerstone Christian Academy! Because of your generosity, we are able to provide families of all financial backgrounds with the opportunity to educate their children in a Christ-honoring community. We currently have around 110 students, and we’re already receiving regular inquiries for next year!

PURPOSE—To assist homeschool families by providing Christ centered classes and educational opportunities for students ages 5-18, led by qualified Christian instructors, committed to a Biblical worldview and integration in the classroom.

VISION—To train students in Biblical truth and academic knowledge, helping them root their faith deeply, grow in wisdom, and build their lives and convictions up in Christ.

MISSION—To provide Christ centered academic and enrichment opportunities that encourage and empower homeschool families to train their children into confident adults, equipped to serve the Lord with their God given abilities, able to share and defend the gospel, and to “ always be ready to give an answer…”

Child Evangelism Fellowship &
Katherine Strand

Child Evangelism Fellowship is a worldwide ministry started in 1937 with the purpose of evangelizing children with the gospel of Jesus Christ, discipling them in the faith, and establishing them in a local church. Our chapter is the Great River Chapter and we serve the Wright, Stearns, Kandiyohi, Meeker, McLeod, and Carver counties of Minnesota. We minister to kids by equipping teens and adults to share Christ effectively with children.

Our heart is to see kids reached with the gospel. Statistics tell us that 80% of Christians came to know Jesus during the ages of 4-14. This is a crucial time to reach people with the gospel message. We want to train adults and teens to confidently and completely share the message of salvation with this age group, and we want to equip them to do that outside the walls of their local church, so that kids that would never get the chance to step inside a church building can still hear the transforming message of the gospel.

Tim & Cheryl Gilley

Ministry - God called us into work with Awana in the Fall of 2011 while attending our church’s Mission’s Conference. He has brought us to Minnesota and Wisconsin to train churches and leaders to work through Awana teaching kids and youth to come to know, love and serve, the Lord Jesus Christ! What a privilege it is to serve Him!

Josh & Tammy Hunt

Josh, Tammy, Abby, Levi, Hudson, Maisie-Lynn

The Hunts lived and served the Lord in East Asia for almost 20 years and had to come back to the US due to their organization closing the sending of foreigners to their country due to major security concerns.

They now have the privilege of being on a team with The Jesus Film Project, a branch of CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ International) and are able to continue to serve East Asia via regular coaching and training of nationals in the national language and quarterly trips to a country near East Asia for face to face intensive training. The goal of the Jesus Film Project is to help national believers plant one church per 1000 people and get the gospel to all the unreached people groups of the country. East Asia has 1.4 billion people and almost 75% have not heard the gospel. You can find out more at cru.org and jesusfilm.org.

Development of sports ministry leaders with InnerCHANGE in Nairobi, Kenya
Brad is the Africa Regional Director for InnerCHANGE/Novo.  His practical ministry in Nairobi is directing a mentorship program for missional sports coaches called Deep Coaching.

Brad directs a training program for missional sports coaches called Deep Coaching. The aim of Deep Coaching is to multiply transformational sports ministries. The coaches we invest in, serve in some of Nairobi’s most impoverished and vulnerable neighborhoods. We long for these sports programs to be safe and joy filled spaces where Nairobi’s at risk youth experience the love and power of Jesus. We pray that these programs become places where seeds of a gospel movement take root and flourish.

Rachael is a Bible teacher for middle school students at Rosslyn Academy International School. The students who attend Rosslyn come from over 50 countries and various religious backgrounds. She has a passion for teaching students how to dig into God’s Word for themselves, and use their God given gifts for Christ like service in the world community.
