Communications Coordinator
Rachael grew up just down the road in Maple Lake, Minnesota. She graduated from Maple Lake School and then proceeded to Crown College in St. Bonifacius, where she received degrees in Social Studies Education (5th-12th grades), Christian Studies, and a minor in Music. She went on to teach Pre-K, Kindermusik classes, and literacy.
In 2014, she married Dan Bomsta, a long time attender of Heartland Evangelical Free church. They were married in a giant field of sunflowers at Dan's parents' farm. In 2018, 2019, 2022, 2024, and 2025, they welcomed five boys named Wyatt, West, Wylder, Waylin, and William.
Currently, they live in South Haven on a 40 acre "sort of" homestead where they keep chickens, turkeys, pigs, bees, and gardens.
Rachael came on staff at Heartland in 2015 as the Interim Assistant Worship Director. Her job title has changed many times and is currently called the Communications & Design coordinator.
In her spare time, Rachael enjoys homeschooling her boys, gardening, hiking, chasing chickens, working her side business of blogging, and going on adventures.
