God at Work "AN AWAKENING PRAYER" By Greg Bomsta
We all desire victories in our lives, for God to work powerfully! How often do we ask God “what victory do you desire to do in me or through me?” If we are being honest, we usually go to God with our “shopping list”- God please do this and God please do that. The following is a story from one of Big Blue’s saints who asked God, “What do you want from me?” Imagine if we all prayed like that? ~Pastor Jeff
A few years back I was in bed saying my prayers, thanking God for all the blessings I have received. When I was coming to a close, I asked God if there was anything that I could do for Him. As with a lot of times I would be drifting off to sleep, but as soon as I asked what I could do for Him, it was as if I'd stuck my finger in an outlet! The shock left me now wide awake, and in my mind HE said "Quit Drinking".
I used to enjoy my beer to excess. Drinking was a way of life for me, and I was a functioning alcoholic. I would go to work during the day, and when I got home I would drink until I went to bed. On weekends I could easily drink a case. There was always beer in the fridge, outnumbering the food at times, but since the night God got my attention I have not had a desire to drink. I am sober and give the Glory to God. Thank you Lord!
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done…..
